In February 2025, WSA launched its inaugural session of the WSA Academy with the #CelebrateSpirits webinar. WSA members convened to share highlights of industry achievements and success stories from their markets in 2024.
Speakers from Asia Pacific International Spirits & Wines Alliance (APISWA), IBRAC – Instituto Brasileiro da Cachaça, Alianza de Bebidas Espirituosas de Latinoamérica y el Caribe and Distilled Spirits Council of the United States presented positive 2024 initiatives from Cambodia, Brazil, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the USA. These initiatives showcased the greater work of the spirits industry in advocating for responsible consumption and the reduction of the harmful use of alcohol globally.
One of the key themes of the webinar was the importance in partnerships – not just within the spirits sector but across the broader value chain and ecosystem of our industry. Participants equally gained insights into various successes in policy advocacy. Strategies and approached to navigating complex landscapes, overcoming challenges, and evaluating the impact of these achievements in the spirits sector were highlighted.
