2025 Responsible Drinking Initiatives Report: A whole-of-society approach to reducing harmful drinking

In 2024, 98 campaigns across 25 countries reached over 80 million people. WHO data shows alcohol-attributable deaths in the EU+ dropped by 20.7% since 2010, with heavy episodic drinking also declining. The report features university-led campaigns and EU-wide drink-driving initiatives like #ROADPOLSafetyDays, emphasizing that long-term, evidence-based partnerships—not blanket restrictions—are the most effective way to shift behaviours and promote moderation across generations.
